The Year in Review...

One year and 2 days ago, I arrived in Italy and turned a new page in my life - looking back, its been quite a year! In 2007 I ....

moved to Italy
learned to speak Italian, abbastanza bene...
experienced a little culture shock
survived working at Il Bacco Felice with Salvatore, and
probably enlarged my liver a little doing so...
turned the big 3-0
adopted 2 kittens, Lilla and 'Cino
took a month-long motorcycle trip, through the Balkans, and helped orphans in Montenegro learn how to cook (new years resolution: finish writing about that)
worked the Trampetti Olive Harvest , and learned that age truly is all in the mind
got married!
opened Basilikó Trattoria here in Foligno

We are in Sicily leaving for Rome and then home on Sunday. I just wanted to tell you once more how much we enjoyed the cooking class with you and Christiana. It is truly a highlight of our trip. If you would send the recipes to me, I will forward on to the others I also wanted to ask you to pass on to Federico that we really appreciated his time in his busy schedule to give us such a wonderful experience tasting the wine. We thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting and lunch. I told the woman at our villa all about you and gave her your web information and a listing of your offerings. We had SUCH a WONDERFUL time! I already am deciding where to stay next time and which regions to explore. You were right that we would want to spend more time in the Umbrian region - we loved Assisi! Jennifer & Federico, Thanks so much for an unforgettable day touring the vineyards by horseback. We can't recommend enough this wine tour to people visiting the area. Firstly you were so obliging helping us to reach you by train from Perugia.
